A Scavenger Hunt is a Great Idea for Your Corporate Event
Team building became popular in the 90's and it is still popular because it works. There are tons of exercises aimed at helping groups grow stronger as a team. But not many of them are better than scavenger hunts. The major reason it is such a good exercises is simply because it's fun.
In most cases, the co-workers involved in team building exercises have never hung out together or done anything remotely social. Because participants are little uncomfortable they don't fully engage in the exercises and they don't get the maximum benefit. Even those who are reluctant to fully participate in team building exercises benefit too but the eager participants are the ones who receive the most out of the experience. Scavenger hunts get people in a positive and enthusiastic mood.
Most people think that scavenger hunts are cool. They would agree to go on a scavenger hunt even if it was not a work-related event. So, co-workers are really excited when they come together. The nervousness goes away and the environment becomes conducive to team building.
And the actual hunt targets all the important elements of bonding and building a team. You should organize a scavenger hunt for your next corporate team building event. There are a few different types of scavenger hunts and I have some information about them below.
Classic
In classic (also known as traditional) scavenge hunting, participates are given the task of finding items that have been given to them on a list. The game is about as straightforward as you can get. In fact, because it is so simple, you may find that another type of the scavenger hunt services is more effective.
Destination
In this version, participants get clues that lead them to a destination at which there is another clue. They continue to follow the clues from destination until they find the last clue. This version is a great choice because trying to solve a problem (or a clue together) encourages bonding. To make things even more fun, try putting your scavenger hunt in a museum or another cool location.
Puzzle Scavenger
This type of scavenger hunt doubles the fun. Players have to figure out clues that will tell them where they can find a piece of puzzle. Once they've figured out all of the clues and have gotten all of the jigsaw pieces, they need to complete the puzzle. You would not play this game with a normal jigsaw puzzle consisting of dozens of pieces, of course. This version would also work well as a team building exercise.
